Baby Peanut is 1 today!!!!!

 

Can you believe it's been a year?!

 

I know her space hasn't been updated since Christmas...there just hasn't been time!!

 

She's growing, crawling, climbing, talking (somewhat) and exploring!!

 

In the next little bit I will (try) to update the site with all the pictures from Christmas until today..

 

We've been so blessed this year..not only with the birth of Emma..but with the support and love from our family and friends...

 

Hopefully we'll be back home soon..so that you can all watch Emma grow in person..

We were very blessed this year to have a very full tree. Emma will now be a very well dressed kid with a new set of wheels.

The Davey's

it's almost here. Emma's first Christmas. She almost a year old!! My how time flys!! We've added some new pictures. Some getting ready for Christmas, some just to show how much she's grown.

6 months already!! 6 more and she'll be a year!!

 

so our baby is growing quite well...she is now weighing in at 18 pounds 5 oz!!!  Only 4 more pounds before we have to get her a forward facing car seat! She's short though (we can't remember how short) But she isn't as tall as most babies her age. Her head is 43 cms...

 

Dr Graham said that she'll probably stop gaining weight and start getting taller...we can only hope (we want her to have the same metabolism as Daddy, Auntie Ashley and Grandma Mona).

 

Her milestones are coming in leaps and bounds now.

 

Emma can:

Roll from her back to her belly and back to belly (left side only)

sit up on her own

blow raspberries

pick things up

stand up for short periods of time, with limited help

laugh

can hold a bottle (when she wants to)

is trying hard to get the hang of her sippy cup

Can't say anything yet..except for the ability to say 'oh yea' at the weirdest times...

 

We'll keep you posted!

Sunday was open farm day in NS!! All farms are open to the public, the Davey clan headed off to Noggin corner Farm just outside Wolfeville. Our Day was filled with a corn maze, fresh farm corn (dipped in butter..mmmm), a hay ride, slides and some shopping for goodies at the market...

Emma started her first swimming lesson today!! Daddy and Emma had a GREAT time..no crying or screaming...just a very happy baby...

Our little girl is growing like a weed. She now weighs in at 14 pounds 1 oz!! She has also grown to 59 cm!!!!

 

She had her shots, which went well, only one little cry (Dr Graham, says it's thanks to the pudge on her thighs...what pudge  ) . We go back at the End of September..stay tuned!!

We've taken the plunge early and have given Emma Rice Cereal....she LOVES it!!!!! She did really well and seemed to know just what to do with it. It has also given her the full tummy she needs to sleep through the night...who's getting sleep now

 

We know that this was really early, but something that needed to be done. We'll do night time only until her 4 month birthday, then we'll increase to 2xs a day until her 5th month birthday then we'll increase to 3xs a day...after that comes the vegtable...who wants peas??

 

 

What a great and successful trip! Emma did great on the plane, not a cry once (both ways) everyday was filled with something new for Emma to see and do. We wanted to thank everyone for making this trip so much fun. We miss you already and can't wait to see you soon. We took lots of pictures, so check them out.

The Davey's will be in Toronto tomorrow night!!! There is so many people to see and so much to do. Mom is over packed and everyone is excited!!! We can't wait to see everyone, we've missed you all so much!!!

oh yea one last things, I did mail out thank you cards, but some got returned (don't ask, moms a knob). If you do not have a Thank you card yet. You may be getting one when I come back home (to give it to you in person) or another one is in the mail....I know, I know..but better later then never...Right?!

Thank you cards are going out this weekend..finally!!!! We know these are long over do, please don't think we haven't appreciated every gift, flower or thoughtful gesture..just soo busy..who knew a baby could take up so much tiime

 

We were hoping to include a picture of Emma but it doesn't look like it's going to happen that way. We'll have to send some out once we go to Sears, or Wally world or where ever does pictures.

We took some of the left over money from Grandpapa and bought Emma a bumbo. Bumbo helps Emma sit up straight and helps her gain head control. We can bring Bumbo almost any where, the beach, restaurants. Emma can watch Mommy do the dishes and make bottles. We are having some troubles telling the dogs that it's not a chew toy...Bubba is obsessed!!!

Our little peanut is growing very nicely. Her current weight is 11 pounds 6 oz!! she is 22 inches tall and her head has finally grown 2 cm!!! She had her shots yesterday, which she wasn't happy about. Mom has already given her baby tylenol as she woke up one crabby apple this morning. Over all peanut is doing very well. We go back in 2 months for more shots.

We've made the switch to a soy based formula...so far so good..except for the stink..Dad says it really really stinks..Mom says it smells better then the other one..who knows?! We've caved in and bought Emma a pacifier to try to hold her off a bit during feedings..so far so good. She's not addicted and it seems to be 'tricking her'..8 week appointment on Thursday..we'll update then.

After finding out the last few days that cloth diapers just aren't working how we had thought, we've been letting peanut have it out in her playpen...

 

I guess this morning she did have a reason for screaming her head off.....we're not bad parents..honest

Thank you Grandma Irene for a wonderful week!!!!!!!!!! I still can't believe I have diamonds!! Lots of new clothes to grow into and a new bag to travel with!!!! Mom & Dad got a hot date out of the deal too!!!! Can't wait for the summer!! Thank you again for all the help.

Yesterday was Emma's 4 week Dr's appointment. Our little girl is now weighing in at 9 pounds 6 oz!!!!! Who said Formula wasn't good?! Emma also has a bit of Acid Reflux which we have to keep an eye on. Her head hasn't grown (guess she won't have Daddy's swelled head)but she's healthy. She goes back in a month for her first shots (that should be a ball!!). Emma's Dr is very happy with her progress and thinks she's doing great.
